Award-winning company launches new £1 million subsidy fund to help elderly

PSP Care Villages, the award-winning provider of new purpose built Care Villages and Nursing Homes, is helping older people afford much-needed care and accommodation by launching a £1 million subsidy fund.

PSP, a family-run organisation, believe its five star hotel-style care homes in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside should be available to everyone and not just those who have lots of savings.

Across the South West and Wales elderly people without savings are being forced to sell their homes and belongings in a bid to afford care home fees and close care accommodation.

But now PSP Care Villages founders have launched a subsidy fund of £1 million to make sure everyone who needs care can receive help.

Set in stunning locations, PSP’s care villages offer a range of accommodation and services. From independent living in one and two bedroom apartments which are available for purchase or rent, through to fully staffed 24hr nursing homes.

The newest development, in Hatherleigh, Devon, boasts exclusive county club style facilities such as a hair and beauty salon, cinema room and an a la carte restaurant. A guest suite can accommodate visitors and there is a mini bus for excursions and shopping trips. The latest technology ensures that residents can summon assistance with ease whilst benefiting from their independence and privacy.

For those who may need greater assistance or specialist care PSP has developed centres of excellence in nursing care. These award winning facilities offer the very latest in dementia care and have had National recognition.

Managing Director Preyen Dewani who was has been awarded Care Entrepreneur of the year told us: “Every person has the right to our facilities whether they have lots of money or limited funds and that is why we set up the £1 million subsidy.

“As a company we recognize that each of our residents has individual care needs as well as personal preferences.

“We calculate our fees on the individuals care needs, room category and any additional services or requirements and not how much wealth they may have.

“We think it is very important to support older people and this is one way of doing this.”

Prospective residents who are keen to benefit from the subsidy fund are asked to visit the development and choose their preferred property.

The on site team will then guide them through the process of applying for a subsidy and assist with the forms. Usually a decision will be available within 48hrs.
