CQC Success

A leading care home near Tipton St John has been praised for the quality of their services by inspectors of the non-departmental government body Care Quality Commission.

Staff at the award winning Angela Court Nursing Home, which provides accommodation and care for 37 elderly residents, have been noted as being lovely, accessible and supportive.

In a recent report released by the Care Qualifying Commission (CQC) it was outlined that since Angela Court Nursing Home appointed a new manager the care services have improved a great deal.

New manager Bob Allan joined the nursing home last year and since his arrival standards at the home have gone from strength to strength with the home recently achieving the ‘Investors in People Award’.

Families of residents are so pleased with the standards at Angela Court they spoke to the CQC independently and gave them an overview of how they felt about the home and the staff.

One person commented in the report: “The staff here are lovely. Since the new manager arrived there have been great improvements and things are getting better.”

Bob Allan, who has run care homes across the country said: “I am very pleased with the CQC’s report and am glad that I have been able to help change things for the better.

“Our aim as a company is to look after and engage our residents through individual care planning, structured activities and the involvement of relatives. We always have a wide range of fun-packed activities for our residents to take part in which is very important to us. We are very fortunate at Angela Court to have beautiful landscaped gardens for our residents to enjoy and these are used for a number of our activities and social events”.

“I look forward to making further improvements and have a great team of staff to help me.”

Angela Court Nursing home, which is operated by the innovative PSP Healthcare, offers a variety of rooms and specialises in dementia care and challenging behaviours.
