Cupid visits Hatherleigh

There was love in the air in Hatherleigh this week as residents of the award-winning Hatherleigh Care Village set about proving that you’re never too old for romance.

Residents of the new £10 million development enjoyed heart-shaped shortbread biscuits with their cup of tea while listening to love-themed music on what is known as the most romantic day of the year.

They also helped dedicated staff make Valentine’s Day decorations and cards.

Home Manager Sue Trott said: “Although Valentine’s Day can bring back bad memories it is great to get our residents involved in decorating the home.

“They really enjoyed taking part in the decorating of the home and eating their heart-shaped shortbread biscuits.

“Our staff aim to stimulate the residents and by getting them involved in creative events is the perfect way.”
