Exmoor Zoo visits Nursing Home

Residents at the award-winning Heanton Nursing Home received some unusual guests recently when
Exmoor Zoo paid a visit to the elderly folk.

Zoo keeper, Steven Eddy, escorted a diverse group of animals to the home including a skunk, as well as a corn snake, a spider and some insects.

The excited residents were able to pet the animals and had an educational talk on their visitors.

Nursing home manager Jo Rutherford told us: “It was a fun filled day where all the residents were able to enjoy spend time petting different

“We are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated activities team they never fail to come up with new and innovative ideas for our activities diary.

“Following the success of earlier visits from Exmoor Zoo a further visit was an absolute must and it was a true pleasure to see the amazement and joy on our residents faces as they interacted with the animals.”
