Staff, residents and visitors were in for a real treat last week when Royal harpist Hannah Stone kicked off her tour of South Wales at the award-winning Gibraltar Care Village.
Hannah, who is the new official harpist to the Prince of Wales, was performing a series of ‘Outreach’ concerts around the country after linking up with charity Live Music Now (LMN).
The young musician, from Swansea, performed for more than 40 people at the £10 million retirement village including elderly residents who have dementia.
She spent a couple of hours entertaining the audience with soothing classical sounds and showcased why she was picked as a royal harpist.
She said: “I feel my career is going from strength to strength. I am delighted to be part of the Live Music Now scheme. I am playing to residents who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live classical music.”
Care Village Manager, Stephane Beaumont, told us: “We were absolutely delighted to welcome Hannah to the village and introduce her to our staff, residents and visitors.
“She really relaxed and entertained everyone who watched her and you can definitely see why she has been chosen as a musician to the royals.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we are hoping she comes back again soon.”
