There was love in the air in Barnstaple this week as residents of the award-winning Heanton Nursing Home set about proving that you’re never too old for romance.
Residents of the 52-bed nursing home enjoyed listening to love-themed music and making creative Valentine’s Day cards on what is known as the most romantic day of the year.
They also helped dedicated staff make Valentine’s Day decorations which were put up around the home to add to the romantic mood.
Home Manager Jo Rutherford said: “Although Valentine’s Day can bring back bad memories it is great to get our residents involved in decorating the home.
“They really enjoyed making creative cards and listening to the love songs it was a nice relaxing romantic day.
“Our staff aim to stimulate the residents and by getting them involved in creative events is the perfect way.”
